it works

the intro screen is practically a puzzle itself. it is very fun.

Great storytelling!!!

Thrilling story once you get used to the controls and gameplay.

ipad mini 1 game exit bug fix please

8.1 ipad mini ios crawld across a proposal. i go out with the myeotcho after if i put a game into practice. you wish to fix a bug

Great graphics/Crappy control

This game is Be-A-U-Ti-Ful! Neat storytelling and nice music and voice acting. The controls are jacked. I played on my 4th gen iPad and found it very frustrating, especially if you have to climb something. That took away from the experience for me but for $1.99, I give it a big thumbs up.

Dream Revenant Update

The controls are absolutely horrible. The game crashes when "strength" is used. There does seem to be a great story and the graphics are beautiful so I decided to look at the "control" as a challenge. So very glad I did. The story was so captivating, so engrossing that I found that I could not not leave the game alone. By the end of the game I felt tears run down my cheeks. I will play again, this time I will have mastered the controls and I will choose the alternate ending. Thanks for a great game.

Beautiful Game Spoiled by Horrible Controls

I really wanted to love this game. The graphics are beautiful and the story seems interesting, however the controls are so difficult and frustrating that after 2 hours of trying to master them I just quit playing. The controls are so annoying and poor that the frustration of trying to use them completely destroys the pleasure of the game. I dont understand why a developer goes to all the work to make such a potentially wonderful game only to have the game almost unplayable due to the wonky controls. I hope they do an up update to fix them.

great story

Ive really enjoyed playing this game. Great graphics, interesting story and nice voice acting. Controls are ok, sometimes i was getting stuck in geography, but It was rare and easily cured with game restart. The whole dream experience reminds me about "the longest journey", Overall, i think its a great game.

Worth the purchase, but very short

Loved this adventure almost as much as dream:scape. It even takes place in the same town, you can see dream:scapes buildings in the background! That was a very nice touch for those of us that have played that app. These graphics are beautiful and the story breaks your heart. My only complaints were that this was too short, there was no lite version, and that occasionally the screen blacked out and I couldnt see what was happening. If not for those, it would have been five stars without a thought.

AMAZING! 5 out of 5 for sure!

This was the best adventure/ free roam I have ever played on iOS! The storyline was amazing; plus, the clues lead to more clues and I just couldnt put the game down! The graphics were top quality for an iOS game. I highly recommend this game to anyone who owns an apple device!

Truly amazing but kind of short

I love this game but it is a little short, please make DR 2. Or make another game like this!

Wow what a heavy game

But I loved it, I wish the controls were different but the story line was fantastic. I was hooked from the beginning.

Please release update for navigation/control bugs

The controls are not great, but can be learned. My main issues are with inconsistencies in interacting with objects and the environment. Its also difficult to tell if an area cannot be walked to or if its just a bug in the game. There are certain times Im walking directly over a violin but it doesnt interact. I do appreciate the originality and the low price though. With as bad as the controls are on my iPad 3, Im surprised this game made it into iTunes. It has great potential with fixed controls and environment interaction though.

Terrible controls

I keep getting stuck by rocks and trees, etc., and have to keep turning and figuring out how to get out. Absolutely horrible controls and and invisible obstacles in the game. I wanted to play, as the music and visuals are great, but Im not going to spend my time playing a game thats slightly broken.

Glitches ruin gameplay

With a little more work, this couldve been an awesome game. I honestly dont know how the developers released this game without being horribly embarrassed. The created world is beautiful, but marred at almost every turn by black, dead space which really ruins what might have been an immersive atmosphere. The story line is fantastic, the controls solid and Unreal Engine makes for a gorgeous 3D world. The second time I played the bonus "40 violins" all of the violins I already found disappeared from the counter AND the world, which was really annoying and gave me no choice but to delete the game, re-upload it and play the whole thing again just to get to a clean bonus round. Repeat: ANNOYING. Its not fair to purchasers to put a half baked game out there.

Wonderful

This game Id wonderful........very addictive........ Very emotional and powerful. As if it could have happened in real life. Plot twists, mystery. Awesome writer. Nothing like it.

Really amazing

Very intricate story line. You can kind of feel the same way the main character does.

Promising but falls short...

This game has amazing potential. The story is great and the gameplay itself COULD be very immersive and beautiful. The problem is that the controls are sloppy and it is an absolute glitch fest in there. Random blotches of black cover areas or the entire screen during key parts. Progression will be halted entirely at parts by the game freezing forcing you to exit and reload from the beginning. If the glitches were fixed and controls repaired. This would be a 5 star game for me, but the problems make it nearly unplayable.

This is not a game, but an experience…marred with flaws

Note that I played this on an iPhone 6+ “Dream Revenant” cannot be thought of as a game at all. There are no levels, no clear direction early on…you literally feel as clueless as you would living in a dream while in a comatose state…well because that’s pretty much where you’re at. It really is more of an experience. As you explore this world (absolutely open, no loading), part of the experience is discovering why you are there in the first place and what you must do. You’ll be confused at first, and might even be tempted to give up (I know I almost did)…but when the pieces start coming together, it hooks you in and you can’t help but dig for more answers to complete your apparently lost/obscured memories. It’s an amazing ride, really…and one that deals with issues of love and hate, dreams and goals, and many other things. I know I came out of it very touched. Please note that their are two possible endings which you can choose at the end when you must make your “life decision”. It’s all done in first person, and though the controls are unusual at first, they make tons of sense. Also, the scenery you experience is breathtaking and detailed. One thing I should note…the game does auto save your progress, but you will always start at the “beginning” area every time you quit the app. You will still have the items you collected and the areas you opened. Also, once you complete the game with either of the 2 endings, it resets itself. So, to experience the other ending, you must replay the whole thing again. But, beat the game once, and there’s a few bonus features that you can enjoy, as well. The story, the way it’s progressed, and the gameplay pushes it way above 5…but an obvious flaw brings it down to 4…simply that there’s this weird glitch that happens at certain camera/lighting angles where black fragmented debris invades your viewing space. At first, I thought it was part of the game…but then cutscenes were sometimes blackened, the menu also, and random spikes while exploring. Yeah, it was annoying, but the story and narrative was so strong that I played through it all. And it was a good thing I did. Even with its flaws, this was one of the few times I can say that a 4 hour game was time well spent.

Glitches galore

Its hard to believe this isnt optimized for the iPhone 6 yet even after all this time. Black pixels keep popping up all over the screen. I just fell through the ground and now everything is black or upside down. Now I have to restart the game. This could be a great game but Ive never seen a game with so many technical issues and glitches ever. Just update it and fix it already. These issues should have been taken care of already.

Excellent--tragic and heartwarming!

This is an amazing example of what gaming can do. Granted, the gameplay isnt all that challenging--the solutions to the "puzzles" are relatively simple--but this game isnt about that. Its about the story, something FAR too many gamers these days have forgotten, a story that is at the same time tragic and heartwarming on multiple levels. We could stand more like this. Total thumb-up from me.
